Too Young?

Damaris, a young girl from a church of one of the DRIME members, came to the streets one afternoon for ministry with the DRIME Paraguay team. After they did the dramas, she shared about how God had used her to reach some of the people watching the dramas. She excitedly shared, “I talked to two children, Felipe and Ernesto. They prayed with me, accepting Jesus as their Lord and Saviour! They were also thankful for many things in their life and were excited about getting to know more about God. Let’s pray for these children so they would stay in this new way and that their always would be people to instruct them in the ways of God.”

After finishing the ministry time, the team shared about what they had  each experienced. Damaris said: “I have never before in my life have done this – talking to strangers about God. It is hard for me to talk to grown-up people, but with children I feel a special connection and I love talking to them. If it is possible, I want to go out to the streets with you every weekend to share my faith with God, because the work you do challenges and helps me.”

What an encouragement! Even though it was difficult for Damaris to go to the streets, and stretched her out of her comfort zone, she saw immediately that once she was willing to be used by God, he gave her everything she needed. The words of 1 Timothy 4:12 are so true: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”  Even though Damaris was younger, and told younger people about Christ, God still used her to make an eternal impact on her city!
